Many people do not realize the importance of going to church. Many leaders don’t even know how to convince people to go to church with them. These reasons will help anyone with at least three points to convince someone to come to church with you.

1. it resets your moral compass every week

People like you because you are moral. People respect you because of your morality. People understand you when you are moral. Moral values like honesty, compassion etc. have social valuable. You are very valuable to people when you are moral. Church helps to reset your moral compass every week. Bad company corrupts good character. People have become more dishonest because they stayed around dishonest people. Birds of the same feathers flock together. You may not be able to control who you work with or your neighbor but you can control your going to church. As you go to church every week, your morality helps you to be more likable, respectable and understandable to people. You are less likely to be depressed when you have social value to people

…Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of Jacob’s God. There he will teach us his ways, and we will walk in his paths…Isaiah 2:3

So put to death the sinful, earthly things lurking within you …an idolater, worshiping the things of this world. Colossians 3:5

2. It resets my spiritual compass every week

Spirituality is important. Those who know their God are stronger since strength comes from within. They are able to achieve great things. When you are connected to the source of your life, every help you need supernaturally is accessible to you. Gifts like favor, healing, joy, peace, righteousness are only accessible through being spiritual.

After this prayer, the meeting place shook, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit…Acts 4:31

3. God designed US to live the rhythm of OUR liVeS around the Sabbath

When God designed the seven days, he wanted us to have one day set on remembering Him and worshiping Him. We are christians so you won’t go to hell if you don’t but it will be unwise for you not to because God makes the laws for our own good. God designed life around the Sabbath.

Keep the Sabbath day holy. Don’t pursue your own interests on that day,
but enjoy the Sabbath and speak of it with delight as the Lord’s holy day.
Honor the Sabbath in everything you do on that day, and don’t follow your own desires or talk idly. Isaiah 58:13

Remember to observe the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. You have six days each week for your ordinary work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath day of rest dedicated to the Lord your God. On that day no one in your household may do any work. This includes you, your sons and daughters, your male and female servants, your livestock, and any foreigners living among you. For in six days the Lord made the heavens, the earth, the sea, and everything in them; but on the seventh day he rested. That is why the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and set it apart as holy. Exodus 20:8-11

Statistic: Going to church 3 times a month live 7.5 years longer, grades, sex life, work performance

4. lives get changed at church

There are testimonies of life change every time. Prisoners become saints. The hungry are fed. Strangers become family. The sick are healed. Whatever you are going through, church is the main place to see your life transformed.

5. People get help at church be it financial, relational and through recommendations

The church is supposed to be a family. I’ve seen people pay the school fees of other members. I have seen international students have a family at church. I have seen people recommend people for jobs and they’ve gotten hired. Everyone will need help one day and God created the church to be a source of help. It’s his body.

6. We give help at church

Church is a place that you will find a lot of people to help. There are many opportunities in church to store treasures towards eternity and in heaven. A naked person may need clothes. A stranger may need a place to stay. A sick person may need a visit. A prisoner may need a visit. Giving help creates a sense of dignity with the giver.

Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the creation of the world. For I was hungry, and you fed me. I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger, and you invited me into your home. I was naked, and you gave me clothing. I was sick, and you cared for me. I was in prison, and you visited me. Mathew 25:34-36

7. God loves his church

Some people don’t go to church because of how some church people can act as hypocrites. Someone people see church people as the most perfect people so when they are disappointed, they tend to stay away from church. However, God says He loves his church and that’s why he died to save it. If God loves the people, you should also and it’s worth spending time with the group God loves.

…just as Christ loved the church. Ephesians 5:25

8. It identifies you as a genuine believer

Are you a christian? Prove it. Bible says the church is the body of Christ and if you are a christian, you are a member of the body then. If you are a member of the body, then you are a member of the church. If you are a member of the church, when the church gathers, you are there. When you see someone’s body, the fingers are usually where they are supposed to be. They have not left the body because they feel they are not important.

In this way we are like the various parts of a human body. Each part gets its meaning from the body as a whole, not the other way around. The body we’re talking about is Christ’s body of chosen people. Each of us finds our meaning and function as a part of his body. But as a chopped-off finger or cut-off toe we wouldn’t amount to much, would we? So since we find ourselves fashioned into all these excellently formed and marvelously functioning parts in Christ’s body, let’s just go ahead and be what we were made to be, without enviously or pridefully comparing ourselves with each other, or trying to be something we aren’t. Romans 12:4-6 MSG

9. A church family helps you develop spiritual muscle

The muscick a sermon possibly a service they missed or you believe they will learn from so much and send it to them.
He makes the whole body fit together perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love. Ephesians 4:16 NLT

10. The Body of Christ needs you

As you serve the purposes of men, remember being part of the body of Christ, the body needs you also. If you are part of the kidney, the body needs you to play your part so that the whole church will be healthy. Don’t relinquish your role

11. There’s work for us to do together

God saved us to join him in the work of saving souls from hell. Going to church gives you the opportunity to play your part in this God involving work. If you are not doing any spiritual work on Sunday, you are not fulfilling the purpose for your salvation

He creates each of us by Christ Jesus to join him in the work he does, the good work he has gotten ready for us to do, work we had better be doing. Ephesians 2:10 MSG

12. A church family will help keep you from backsliding

People backslide because they lack encouragement to go the long haul. Who will encourage you to keep running the race of faith when you feel like giving up? The church family is there to encourage you and also protect you from devils.

But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called “Today,” so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness. Hebrews 3:13

Have confidence in your leaders and submit to their authority, because they keep watch over you as those who must give an account… Hebrews 13:17

13. The word of God gives you access to principles to build your life on

You will build your life on something. Some people are building their lives on ancient philosophies, money, other religions etc. Any foundation that is not Jesus Christ will come crumbling one day. At church, we get to hear the word, put it into practice and build our lives on a solid rock. There is a prophecy in the scriptures of a time when there will be a famine of the word of God. Don’t begin that famine in your life now.

The main symptom that your life is under spiritual attack and decline is an inconsistent attendance at church services and other meetings. The thief comes to steal, kill and destroy. If he can separate you from the pack, he can attack you. So he always starts with creating in you a desire to not come to church. Don’t fall for it
