Food is very important in every service. If you will be able to attract poor people and students, you must have food in all your services. Bible says the earlier church used to eat together.
I believe that food is a very important way to pull people to your services. Serve coffee, sandwiches and make it consistent.
Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the creation of the world. For I was hungry, and you fed me. I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink…
All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, and to fellowship, and to sharing in meals (including the Lord’s Supper), and to prayer…
They worshiped together at the Temple each day, met in homes for the Lord’s Supper, and shared their meals with great joy and generosity…
I have heard pastors say it’s not a feasible approach to give food every Sunday because of cost. I tell myself I see it in scriptures then I must do it. It’s possible in our church so I know it’s possible in yours.
Practical Ways To Have Food
- Let people specialize in a part of the whole food. For example: someone brings drinks, only tomatoes, only bread slices, only turkey, only cheese etc.
- Dedicate money to food and let your members commit to giving money towards it
